Our Story
Esseza Ministries was inspired by Esseza Kafuko, the first child we
supported. Her story—of resilience and hope—sparked our mission to
combat childhood cancers and related illnesses.
Today, Esseza Ministries
is a trusted partner in Uganda’s healthcare landscape, offering
comprehensive care and empowering communities.
Our Mission
To provide care, support, and hope to vulnerable children and their families while combating unnecessary pain, suffering, and deaths caused by childhood cancers and related illnesses.
Our Vision
To be Uganda's leading organization offering culturally inclusive and professionally competent childhood cancer care services, as part of a global network of cancer care initiatives.
Our Operational Strategy
Esseza Ministries is dedicated to reducing preventable suffering caused by disabilities, cancers, and related illnesses. Through collaboration with like-minded partners and communities, we exchange vital information, advocate for solutions, and mobilize resources. Our innovative 'Brain Fitness' program focuses on minimizing the onset of age-related conditions such as dementia, fostering healthier and more informed communities.
We leverage Information Communication Technology (ICT) for effective outreach, utilizing social media platforms to connect with beneficiaries and drive impactful campaigns. Our awareness initiatives include TV talk shows, social media outreach, and public events to promote participation and education.
Additionally, we provide essential services such as caregiver training, post-recovery planning for survivors, and research into disabilities and cancers. By empowering individuals and contributing to better policies, Esseza Ministries takes a comprehensive approach to addressing critical health challenges

Annie Katuregye - Founder & Vision Bearer
Esseza Ministries was born from a single act of compassion—helping young Esseza Kafuko fight cancer. Her journey inspired a mission to bring hope and healing to children battling cancer across Uganda.
What began as one child’s story is now a growing movement of love, faith, and support. I am grateful to everyone who stands with us to give these children a second chance at life.
I believe you and I can touch more lives of children battling cancer, lets work together for a happy future.
